Responsibility of the Position

Senior Software Development Engineers develop software using and integrating appropriate technologies for new developments as well as enhancements, improvements, and upgrades to existing systems.

  • Leading a team designing and delivering requirements within company-wide system and supporting a Functional Team learning and using Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations
  • Planning project activities, management, and mentoring for a small team as required
  • Reviewing and maintaining current systems, presenting ideas for system improvements, providing agile effort estimations, and attending project review meetings – for development, coding, testing, and configuration that meets customer requirements
  • Performing unit, integration, and sometimes manual testing of modules and applications
  • Preparation of detailed technical specifications, documentation, workflow diagrams, and user guides as needed
  • Act as a link for technical information validation between the company and any partners
  • Supporting and deputising for the Head of Architecture and Software Development

Candidate Profile 

  • 7+ years’ work experience and demonstrable skills in Microsoft Dynamics AX encompassing Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and AX2012 and/or AX2009, supported by Microsoft Dynamics Development Introduction certification (from at least AX 2012)
  • Full understanding of the architecture and the development framework of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, including Visual Studio Team Services and Lifecycle Services
  • Experience with the full development lifecycle i.e. requirements capture, analysis, design, test, documentation, maintenance, and configuration management
  • Strong architectural understanding of the various frameworks and core classes within Dynamics AX especially including web services and/or AIF in AX2009 and AX2012
  • Experience of using version and source control to protect, manage and share source code
  • Having skills in MVC, GIT, usage of TFS (Team Foundation Server) for task tracking, web services (i.e. SOAP, ReST), and testing (manual or automated)
  • Have good interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work effectively - as part of a team and alone - showing meticulous attention to detail
  • Displays enthusiasm for constantly learning new skills, tools, and techniques and teaching these to a wider team
  • Displays an understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
  • Will keep up-to-date with appropriate software engineering processes and methodologies used in industry
  •  Have an understanding of Information Security practices and is able to attain
