After 6 months of fundraising it was the pleasure of the Goodwill Committee to present the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre with the £500 we all raised together.
It was a fantastic experience to get to see all the facilities that the rescue centre had to offer: from a Guinea pig colony, to Whiskers Way a cattery block with 14 units all with thermostatically controlled heating, and their dog kennel block with space for up to 14 dogs. It was also great to hear about how the DBARC also support other rescue centres, including one over in Ireland where they frequently take in dogs due to the short hold time they have over there.

When showing us around the grounds it was nice to see that there were several large fields where the dogs could be let loose to run and play with each other. Also, that consideration had been taken to include some artificial turfed areas, which can be easily cleaned, to accommodate for animals who may have infectious illnesses but still want to enjoy the outdoors.
The level of care from all staff was clear and was evident as there were not many animals present because they had all been successfully re-homed. We finished up our visit in the Barkwrights Pet Accessories Shop where Debbie picked up a couple toys for her furry friend, and if you are looking for something new for yours or are wanting to adopt a pet yourself then you should check them out too.
The Goodwill Committee would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who took part in any of our fundraising activities and we would like to give a special thanks to Diane and her card sales which helped to support our chosen charity and will continue to, going forward this year.
