Airinmar has a long tradition of raising money for local good causes and our latest charity to benefit is Poperinghe pre-school.
Poperinghe is a charity run pre-school managed by a voluntary parent committee situated within the Arborfield Garrison Community Complex, about 600 meters from our office. Supported by basic government funding, volunteers and charitable donations, Poperinghe provides a safe and fun environment in which children between the ages of 2-5 can play and learn.
Our sponsorship activity to achieve a target of £200 in fundraising was our entry into the 80 mile long-haul route of the Farnborough Flyer 2021 cycling event, which took place on Sunday 12th September 2021. This comprised 80 miles and over 4,000ft of climbing in the Hampshire countryside (who knew there were so many hills that far south!!). On Friday the 10th, two days before the event, one of our team let us know that he would enter the ride on his ‘fat bike’ if we could get the fundraising to £460…..and with an extra push we managed to get the final figure to £480 for our chosen charity. A big thank you to everyone who sponsored, it’s greatly appreciated.
On Tuesday 28th September, some of our team had the pleasure of visiting Poperinghe pre-school to deliver the cheque, get a photo and find out how our fundraising will help the pre-school.
