The latest charity to benefit from Airinmar fundraising is Tree of Hope, a charity whose goal it is to transform the health of sick and disabled children. In particular, our donation has been to contribute to the fundraising for a local boy called Dawson.
Dawson has Dystonic Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy and his family are fundraising for surgery and post-op recovery. Dawson has a long road to being totally independent, walking unaided and being able to move more freely. Through the Tree of Hope charity, Dawson’s family are raising money for a surgical procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) and the associated post-surgery recovery. SDR is not a cure for Cerebral Palsy, but the operation intends to improve quality of life by reducing the muscle stiffness. More information about Dawson and his journey can be found here: https://www.treeofhope.org.uk/dawsoncandoit/
Our sponsorship activity to achieve our fundraising target was our entry into the 80 mile long-haul route of the Farnborough Flyer 2022 cycling event, which took place on Sunday 18th September. This comprised 80 miles and over 4,000ft of climbing in the Hampshire countryside. A big thank you to everyone who sponsored, it’s greatly appreciated.
